About Oakland

The mission of Oakland United Methodist Church is to serve our Lord Jesus Christ in proclaiming his Word, to reach out to the community near and far and lovingly care for one another in Christian fellowship.

The membership consists of  a mixture of young, middle and older families. The congregation has a strong support for each other and always respond in time of need to share our love and faith of Jesus Christ.

Our History
Oakland United Methodist Church began in 1850 as a meeting group near what is now Old Oakland Church at the corner of Oakland and Mineral Hill Roads. The present church was built in 1892 on land donated by the Bennett Family.
